Persuasive Writing Engine
The only writing course that teaches individuals and teams how to improve their critical thinking skills and write arguments that win hearts, minds, deals, and dollars.
The next 4-week online Persuasive Writing Engine course begins in winter 2022.
What Do Arguments Have to Do with Fairy Tales? As It Turns Out, Everything.
Can Cinderella give your proposals a competitive edge? Can Aladdin help you gain stakeholder buy-in? Can Snow White make your investor presentations memorable for all the right reasons?
The answer’s a definitive “yes.” The Persuasive Writing Engine course uses models of persuasion based on fairy tales to empower change-makers to sharpen their critical thinking skills and write arguments that get the job done.
Attendees say my courses are unlike any other course they’ve ever taken. They gain hands-on practice in crafting strategic business cases. They learn to connect with audiences where they live and breathe.
The Higher the Stakes,
the More You Need This Course
Let’s say your organization is short on in-house writing expertise but big on initiative. Let’s also say shared understanding, credibility, reputation, and money are on the line.
The purpose of writing is to inform or persuade by helping people understand important ideas, solve problems, or perform tasks. Writing fails when readers misunderstand the message, bristle at the quality of its style or presentation, or find the core argument unconvincing and stop reading before the end.
While writing is a vital part of almost everyone’s job, many individuals and teams lack the fundamental skills required to make a sound, compelling business case. That’s where the Persuasive Writing Engine course comes in.
Your ideas matter. I’ll show you how to communicate them in a way that enables your audience to understand, show their support, and take action.

Instructional Design +
I’ve been teaching courses in marketing, business writing, persuasive writing, and proposal writing for 20 years. After I graduated college, I developed a writing course, wrote a course book, and taught the course to Department of Defense personnel at the Pentagon. It was a pretty sweet first gig.
Afterward, I taught undergraduate writing courses at the University of Virginia and graduate-level writing courses at the University of Colorado Boulder.
For the past six years, I’ve taught persuasive writing courses to Department of Defense teams at the Pentagon and teams at U.S. Air Force bases nationwide. I also work as a fractional chief marketing officer for a handful of businesses and provide business consulting to startups and enterprise organizations.
Tell the Best Story Possible
In my work with hundreds of companies, universities, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Air Force over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the damage poor communication and weak arguments can do. Good ideas fall by the wayside because people don’t know how to plead their case effectively.
- Clearly and effectively communicate brand identity
- Close new business
- Win contracts and win over investors
Writers usually have a goal in mind and want their audience to take them seriously. In my Persuasive Writing Engine course, I teach writers how to achieve that goal and win over their audience by telling the best story possible.
Ready for a Game Changer?
I have what it takes to help individuals and teams improve their writing across the board – all while enhancing your organization’s credibility and empowering you to achieve your business goals. You need a real expert to show you what to do and how to do it. I’m that expert.

(Yeah, I get it. Your email address is the most valuable thing you own after that Bitcoin stock your pal Timmy gave you back in 2012 in lieu of rent. Don’t fret. I won’t waste your time. Promise.)
No selling, renting, spamming, or “just checking in!” All value. All real information. All the time.
