Class elections are being held today. My niece Ally is running for vice president. Here she is giving bribes for votes. Free chalk for everybody!
She’s quite entrepreneurial, this one. A real mover and shaker. Recently she sent an email to friends and family to raise money for summer camp.
Here’s the text of the email:
Hello! This is Ally.
I would like to go to camp for two weeks this summer, June 16-29. The camp is Camp Kanuga, and its in North Carolina and I would go with my cousin Grace. I don’t get to see her often and since she has gone there for 3 times and almost 4 she would recommend it to anybody. She says the camp is fun, creative and lets you do exciting things like archery, aquatics, sports, climbing, and arts and crafts. The camp is expensive it costs $1350 and I am trying to raise money so I can go.
So far I think I can get $50 off because I am a first time camper. I am also applying for financial aid and if I get it, it will cover about $325. I still have to come up with at least $1000 more.
I am asking for your help. If you can help me with any amount even $10 it would make me so happy. To say thanks I would babysit, do chores, or wash cars. I will also make a newsletter telling you the fun things I did at camp, and I will include photos of my adventures.
She’ll make a very successful businesswoman one day, I have no doubt. Chalk as bribes for votes and a detailed fundraising letter to drum up interest? I mean, who wouldn’t support this excellent girl in all of her endeavors?
On an unrelated note, I’ve already told her she has to take care of me in my old age. Lucky, lucky girl.
