I recently saw The Big Short, a story about hubristic lunatics who sailed their yachts through the blood, sweat, and tears of fellow human beings, thereby causing a global financial crisis that left the world economy in tatters and millions homeless and without jobs. It’s amazing how much multitasking you can accomplish with crossed fingers, a “what’s in it for me” god complex, and little oversight.
The top 1% owns half the world’s wealth.
Sit with that one for a moment.
Now try this one on for size — According to Fortune, “At the base of the global wealth pyramid are those with a net worth of less than $10,000, who account for a massive 71% of the world’s adult population.”
Enough.
Is Bernie Sanders the answer? I honestly have no idea. But I’m going to his rally in Denver today to see if I can find out.
