Agent Speed Dating

I attended the San Francisco Writers Conference last weekend. It was FANTASTIC. Excellent presenters, fab agents, loads of creative types, and lots of homework. And San Fran. Right on.

One of the many highlights of the weekend was the agent speed dating session. Basically, you get 50 minutes to meet with as many agents as possible for up to 2.5 minutes each. (Because lines form for many agents, most people met with a total of 4-7 agents.) At the end of the 2.5-minute allotted time, a bell rings, and you join a different agent’s line. Worse. Multitasking. Ever.

On Sunday night I got back from 10 days in California, where I visited my friend LuAnne and attended the fabulous San Francisco Writers Conference. More on the conference later.

Now I’m home, and I’m swamped. Swamped.

Yesterday, I worked on my taxes and compiled conference notes and worked on my novel pitch and reviewed chapters from my talented peers in my advanced novel class and did client work and sent out invoices and prepped for upcoming meetings and considered buying real estate.
